Microsoft and Google end six-year silence, ready to battle again
Like a storm that follows the silence, Microsoft and Google are back at each other again after a six-year silence due to a legal truce. The truce that had formed between Microsoft and Google to avoid legal battles and complaints ended in April this year.
Some instances of the battle between the two rivals have surfaced in the recent past. Earlier this year Microsoft supported a change in Australian law that made Google pay news publishers to use their content on Google News. In response, Google criticized Microsoft for trying to “break the way the open web works”.
The truce had attempted to improve cooperation between the firms, reported The Financial Times. Google also tried to make a way for Android apps on Windows but had to seek Amazon’s help to run Android apps on Windows 11.
