More than 1200 cases of a rare heart inflammation reported after Pfizer and Moderna’s vaccine dose
More than 1,200 cases of a rare heart inflammation reported after Pfizer’s or Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine dose as per CDC. These cases are higher than what CDC had expected. As of May 31st, there have been 275 reported cases of myocarditis or pericarditis, among people of the16 to 24 age group.
The majority of cases appear to occur in men and symptoms take 2-3 days to be visible. Out of the total 475 cases, 81% of people have been fully recovered still nearly 19% still reported symptoms like chest pain or had an unknown status.
To review the same, CDC scheduled a meeting on 11 June but only discussed the condition. It did not vote on changing the recommended use of vaccines.
