‘Mortal Kombat’ and ‘Demon Slayer’ reigns the Box Office

In the middle of the COVID crisis, two fanboy movies, the Mortal Kombat and the Demon Slayer got released amidst huge confusion if it was practical to have the much anticipated audience come to theatres, but the statistics show otherwise.

According to the Deadline, the New Line movie Mortal Kombat and the  Funimation/Aniplex movie Demon Slayer went head on head for a photo-finish of $6.1M.

Demon Slayer ended its first week with $27.7M while Mortal Kombat grossed $27.85M in its first seven days. Yesterday, Mortal Kombat was on top with $1.85M at -80% and Demon Slayer $1.81M at -71% drops respectively says Deadline.

Mortal Kombat is a martial arts fantasy movie based on the video game series of the same name Mortal Kombat. The movie is directed by Simon McQuoid, starring Lewis Tan, Joe Taslim, Hiroyuki Sanada and Sisi Stringer.

 

Demon Slayer is Japanese animated dark fantasy based on the shonen manga series Demon Slayer. The movie is directed by Haruo Sotozaki.
