Multi-vehicular collision on 605, one reported dead

A multi-vehicular crash on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Whittier saw the death of one person. Authorities say that the collision involved at least five vehicles and a sole rig, with one overturned vehicle.

First responders arrived at the site of the collision and the Role Hills Road off-ramp, according to Officer Patrick Kimball of the California Highway Patrol. The accident resulted in the closure of the Rose Hill Roads off-ramp leading to the 605 Freeway. Additionally, the northbound HOV lane, northbound one, two, and three lanes of the 605 were also closed down.

The victim was not immediately identified, and the cause of the accident along with other details are under investigation, said Officer Kimball
