<p>We might see the same cast of characters is at the Oscars every year, but they are definitely a pool of talent. And the truth is that only half-dozen actors have ever held the trophy more than two Academy Awards.</p>
<p>At present, the record remains with Katharine Hepburn. She earned 4 Academy Awards on her mantle. She also holds the prestige of being nominated 12 times.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a list of male actors with the most academy awards:</p>
<h4>Jack Nicholson</h4>

<p>Jack Nicholson has gladened us with many of his performances. There is no other male actor as many as his total number of nominations. The Hollywood legend won the first Oscar award for <em>One Flew Over the Cuckoo&#8217;s Nest </em>(1975), the second <em>Terms of Endearment </em>(1983), and the third for <em>As Good as It Gets </em>(1997).</p>

<p>Daniel Day-Lewis comes under the list of one of three actors to ever take home three Oscars. He was nominated six times for his flawless performances. His first was for <em>My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown</em> (1989) and after that, he didn&#8217;t win again for almost two decades. he won his second trophy for <em>There Will Be Blood </em>(2007). His latest win was for <em>Lincoln</em> (2012), where he played the main lead character and former U.S. President.</p>
<h4>Walter Brennan</h4>

<p>While Walter Brennan doesn&#8217;t have as many nominations to his name as others, yet he has won in 3 out of 4 nominations. His three wins are for <em>Come and Get It</em> (1936), <em>Kentucky</em> (1938), and <em>The Westerner</em> (1940). He didn&#8217;t win only when he was nominated for <em>Sergeant York </em>(1941).</p>

<p>Spencer Tracy is the second-most nominated actor ever. His two wins were for <em>Captain Courageous</em> (1937) and<em> Boys Town</em> (1938).</p>

<p>Over a lengthy span of his career, Marlon Brando has collected two Oscars and eight nominations. This prolific actor&#8217;s first win was for <em>On the Waterfront </em>(1954) followed by <em>The Godfather</em> (1972) wherein he played Don Vito Corleone in the film. He died in 2004 at the age of 80.</p>

<p>Jack Lemmon&#8217;s two wins were for  <em>Mister Roberts</em> (1955) and <em>Save the Tiger </em>(1973). He died in 2001 at the age of 76. He is also a part of the Oscar two timers club</p>
