This Sunday, a glimmer of hope appears for the silver screen, Warner brother’s “Godzilla vs Kong” topped 60 million dollars in the US this weekend making it the highest-grossing movie to be released in theatres during the pandemic.

Local theatre owners feel that “they’re confident this summer is going to be a good one.”

Cost of Covid

The theatre owner further said that “Last Friday was the first time we have had all four theatres open at the same time”.

There is not much exposure of Popular theatre brands in Bryan and Van-Wert So the local theatres used to do good business during normal conditions. Last week’s release of Godzilla vs Kong marked the first during the pandemic, Indoor business was better than the drive-ins.

As things are going back to normal gradually, the indoors are doing very well. People are coming out and they’re enjoying what they’re seeing but it still comes down to new content. They’re hopeful, they will come back but movie studios need to stop pushing back release dates. We hope that it’s not going to happen more.

Conditions are improving, it is also being heard that a lot of movie studios are coming up with more products so that it’ll draw more and more people out.

What changed the movie experience in 2021

Going to see a movie in 2021 remains mostly the same with a few familiar Covid changes like Booking your ticket online via websites and scanning a QR code to order your food online and you’ll receive a text when it’s ready for pickup.

Theatre owners are really happy to be back in business for a blockbuster like Godzilla, they hope it sticks around but worry about streaming might take it over.

Companies like HBO Max offers streaming services and then it starts to put all the new movies out. But this isn’t going to happen much. The theatre is a different and fun experience rather than sitting at home and watching it on TV.

But it is clear and confirmed with the national association of theatre owners that the studios releasing films simultaneously on streaming services is only a temporary thing, this is not forever.

It’s just this year, it’s a 2021 thing to try to emerge from Covid with vaccinations going up and new movies planned for the rest of this year which will be released in theatres this means it’s showtime once again.

A video that has gone viral over the internet shows a lizard climbing the shelves of a supermarket as people scream in the background.

The video is of a giant lizard that entered a supermarket in Thailand and was seen scaling the shelves and knocking down the products on the floor.

The reptile created havoc in the store as it tried to open packages and threw milk cartons on the floor all the while sending customers and workers in hiding. Initially, the lizard tried opening the refrigerator but when it failed to do so, it climbed the shelves.

Reportedly, the lizard emerged from a nearby canal Nakhon Pathom.

According to reports, one of the staff members called up the rescue team, who took the lizard and left it in nearby undergrowth.

A shocked customer in a report said that “They’re dangerous animals, especially when they’re angry, so I stayed back and recorded it on my phone. I guess that shops have everything, even for lizards.”

The video which had reminded netizens of the recently released Godzilla vs. Kong had users dubbing the lizard as mini Godzilla.
