The larger restaurant industry is facing a labor crunch. Lesser people are returning to the workforce than expected, and restaurants are trying to match consumer demand as it returns back.

The hiring declarations that normally come during the spring and summer times have been joined this year by news of wage hikes, referral and retention bonuses and other enhanced benefits.

McDonald’s company-owned locations employees will be seeing pay hikes of an average of 10% in the next few months. Entry-level employees will be earning $11 to $17 per hour, and shift managers will earn $15 to $20 an hour, on the basis of location.
