Nina King makes History; first woman and person of colour to be appointed as Athletic Director at Duke
Nina King was appointed at Duke in 2008 and has been assisting the former Athletics Director and her mentor, Kevin White, since 2005 when both of them were back in Notre Dame. Recommend by most of the board and her mentor, King has been commended for her ‘extraordinary leadership, earning the esteem of our coaches, student-athletes, athletics staff and colleagues in athletics departments across the country.’
She has a long line of achievements, academic as well as athletics, that include her degrees in Law and Accounting, getting elected as NCAA basketball selection committee chair for the session 2019-20 among many others.
