PayPal raises transaction costs for branded payment products

PayPal has decided to charge extra on the payment for branded payment products and on the other side have cut down on the more basic transactions and those done for/ by small and medium businesses. In his statement, Dan Leberman, Senior Vice President, PayPal, said that “We are changing prices to help our customers understand even more clearly where we provide value.”

Paypal has risen up in its position in the markets as the go-to choice for online payments in America during the Pandemic. Paypal is one of the largest digital payment platforms in the world, it has 392 million active users and a substantial percentage of it is from outside of the US.
