Pfizer booster shot effective against delta variant, according to new data
American pharmaceutical company, Pfizer released new data on Wednesday which says that Pfizer’s booster shot will provide strong protection against the delta variant of coronavirus.
According to the new data, people between the age of 18-55 who received the booster shot produced five times more antibodies than the second dose. For people between the ages 65 to 85 antibody levels increased 11-fold after a third dose than following a second dose.
According to reports by Kaiser Health News, there are chances of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approving the emergency use of Pfizer booster shots due to the FDA’s “is a new drug safe and effective” standard.
Pfizer is planning to start its trial version of the booster dose in August.
