Pornhub founder’s Montreal mansion went up in flames; arson attack suspected
Pornhub founder, Feras Antoon’s multi-million-dollar mansion went up in flames after an apparent arson attack, currently investigated by the police.
The under-construction property is located in Montreal’s Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood and is listed for sale at nearly $20 million.
A spokesperson for the Montreal police stated that the officers were called at 11:30 p.m. after two people were spotted on the property. It was in flames when the police arrived.
It took three hours for the eighty firefighters to put out the fire. The spokesperson reported that nobody was hurt but the neighbors were evacuated.
The police have identified that the fire began inside the mansion, as per the spokesperson.
Antoon, CEO of Mindgeek, parent company of Pornhub, said in a statement to VICE that “Over the weekend, a fire occurred at my residence… I’m grateful that my family and I and our neighbors are safe. Out of respect for the ongoing police investigation, I will not be commenting further.”
The mansion covering 61,000 sq. ft. was planned to have 21 rooms, including eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms, and nine garages, as per listing.
The listing said that it would also have a “Multi Sport Complex” for basketball, volleyball, and badminton which could be turned into ballroom during events.
