Preserved fossils of a Giant Rhino found in Northwest China
Preserved Skull of a Giant Rhino has been found in Linxia Basin, Gansu Province of Northwest China. It is “the sixth species of this hornless rhino genus to be discovered in Eurasia”. According to the research, this Rhino was as tall as the largest Giraffes found today. They are said to have inhabited the areas of China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
Paraceratherium linxiaense, one of the largest mammal to have inhabited the earth, measured 16 feet at the shoulder and weighed 20 tonnes which are equivalent to four African Elephants. According to experts, they were found on earth about 23 million years ago.
