The post along with a monochrome picture of a small boy playing with a bunch of heart-shaped balloons on an empty playground is captioned with the details of the initiative as announced by the royal couple.
Meghan and Harry have expressed their happiness for having received immense love and warmth by their family on Archie’s birthday over the couple of years and are grateful for those who donate selflessly and organically to the charities on his behalf and raise funds to perform an act of service and give back the nature something good.
They further say that as the world continues to heal from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there are still many places that are vulnerable and have lesser chances of survival as about 80 percent of the one billion vaccine shots given to people worldwide have been concentrated more in the wealthier areas while many developing countries are yet to be introduced to the vaccine.
As a result, Harry and Meghan have started an initiative, inviting all those who are willing to donate in order to support poor families who do not have equal access to vaccines as they believe that without this equality we would never be able to recover and heal.
The couple shares that donating mere $5 can help a person acquire a dose which would be converted to $20 for them to have four doses of the same.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken this initiative in honour of their son Archie’s second birthday and shared the website ‘archewell.com’ to know more about donations.
