Singer Tony Bennett opens up about being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease
Tony Bennett and his family have opened up about the singer being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
The singer is 94 years old and had begun showing symptoms of the disease in 2015, as mentioned in a feature report by AARP magazine. The singer thanked the magazine in a tweet.
“Life is a gift — even with Alzheimer’s.Thank you to [his wife] Susan and my family for their support, and @AARP The Magazine for telling my story,” Bennett wrote.

Bennett was officially diagnosed in 2016, but his declining health wasn’t public knowledge since he kept performing.
Bennett’s last public performance was in March 2020, at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, New Jersey.
