SpaceX launches GPS III SV05 Navigation Satellite for US Space Force

Including GPS III SV05 SpaceX has launched four GPS satellites for the US Military, they chose Falcon 9 for the liftoff. The Military wants to launch 10 of these upgraded navigation satellites to relieve the old ones, their next launch is planned for later this year.

This satellite was built by Lockheed Martin. The upgraded satellite is “more resilient to jamming and boasts additional broadcast frequencies to make the GPS network more compatible with other similar constellations.” SpaceX confirmed its landing on the ‘Just Read the Instructions drone ship, marking the completion of this booster’s second GPS III flight and later of its deployment.
