Subway to give up to one million free sandwiches nationwide

Subway on Monday, July 12 announced that it will be giving one million free sandwiches across the nation. The free sandwiches will be available on Tuesday, July 13 from 10 a.m to noon.  Participating locations will be giving away 6-inch Turkey Cali Fresh sub on request to 50 customers per store.

The new sub is part of the updated menu, is touted to be the company’s biggest menu update in its 50+ years history. The menu was revealed after the New York Times published a news article that said that Subway’s tuna didn’t have any actual tuna DNA, according to a test.

In its defense, the company said that it serves 100% wild-caught tuna and that “DNA testing is simply not a reliable way to identify denatured proteins, like Subway’s tuna, which was cooked before it was tested.”
