Tax refunds for fraud, twice more than 2019

The IRS is issuing out tax refunds and stimulus checks for this season. The process has been delayed because they keep coming across identity fraudulence fiasco that also created a lot of inconveniences the last year when they were much lesser in number.

The last time, more than half of the claim was legitimate and there was a delay for quite a number of these refunds because of the filters that were used to check the authenticity of the claims. These filters actually helped IRS by saving them the amount of $2.5 billion which they would have otherwise lost to the whole ordeal.
