The Ellen DeGeneres Show: Matthew McConaughey clears air on joining politics
Today’s episode of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, featured the brilliant actor Matthew McConaughey, this time getting interviewed not by Ellen, but the very popular country music artists and guest hosts for the day, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.
When asked whether he has plans for pursuing political office, McConaughey giving his “honest consideration” replied, “You know, I’ve been asked that question a lot lately, and my answer is the same. It’s something I’m trying to look in the eye”.
He further described of what an experience getting into that field would seem like, exclaiming, “What an awesome privilege, awesome responsibility, awesome position of sacrifice and service — something to consider!”
McConaughey shared about the talents he has been gifted with, as a leader, a listener, a learner and a teacher while asking himself the question “What’s my category, though?”
As he ponders upon these questions, finding solutions to them and embarking on the journey of self-discovery, Matthew further says on running for the Texas governor, “I’m really working on that, and going, and doing some under the hood, 360 work inside of me and measuring what my next step should be”.
