For centuries dogs have been given the title of  man’s best friend and one of his constant support systems. These creatures manage to understand almost all our emotions without understanding one word that we say.

Since time immemorial, their unconditional love, companionship and loyalty towards their human counterparts speaks for itself and can be traced back to the Bonn-Oberkassel dog which was found buried with two humans, 15,000 years ago.

However, it is also seen that when families have children at home, especially infants, they grow resistant towards owning a pet. When it comes to teaching your kid the value of responsibility-dogs can be especially useful, when your kids have to help walk, bathe, and feed the dog, they are learning the important skill of taking care of another living creature.

Moreover a study also found that dogs help boost the immune system- babies which were raised in a dog-owning home were seen to be less susceptible to colds and respiratory infections. Also, with this modern digital age there’s a high tendency in kids to become couch potatoes and spend all day sitting and surfing on the Internet, doing no physical exercise. Truly living up to the Latin phrase “multum in parvo” which means “a lot of dog in a small space”-these  small, adaptable and snuggly creatures wiggles their way into the hearts of men and women, but, especially, children are the one for whom this dog has a special affinity. They admire its round head, sparkling eyes and fascinating human-like expressions.
