Vin Diesel to star and co-produce live action ‘Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots’ with Universal Pictures and Mattel Films

Vin Diesel is selected to play the lead in new live action movie ‘Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots’ by Universal Pictures and Mattel Films.

Universal Pictures and Mattel Films have signed Vin Diesel as the lead of ‘Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots’, a live action movie. As per THR, the film is written by Ryan Engle and will be co-produced by Vin Diesel under his banner ‘One Race Films’.

The story revolves around a team of father and son, who form familiar relations with a war machine that is robotic and advanced.

The ‘Fast and Furious’ star Vin Diesel said in a statement, “To take the classic Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em game, with Mattel as my partner, and align it with the kind of world-building, franchise-making success we have had with Universal, is truly exciting.”

Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots game

The Vin Diesel starrer action movie is based on ‘Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots’ game launched in 1964 by designer Marvin Glass and Associates and producer Marx which was redesigned by Mattel in the 2000s.

The game consists of two robots one red and the other blue in a boxing ring set. The objective of this two-player game is to sock the opponent and knock off it’s head.
