One of the first images from the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) was that of the Weeknd, who has been walking around with a bloodied face everywhere, like he’d just been beaten up.
But the Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, is doing completely fine. In fact, he wasn’t actually bloody or bruised at all. It’s all part of the act.
His appearance is the result of makeup, which he first used for the visuals accompanying his latest album “After Hours” and music video “Blinding Lights”.
The 2020 MTV VMAs aired Sunday night and despite the ongoing crisis, an (outdoor) show still went on!
