The movie version of Jenny Han’s best-selling book To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before did precisely that and went on to become a fan favorite for these same reasons. The clever dialogue, the amusing misunderstandings, and the unique characters keep us captivated and delighted throughout.
The trilogy of cinematic adaptations for the books, a beautiful, well-balanced blend of romance and healthy family-friend connection, tragically came to an end in 2021. In 2023, a new spin-off series called XO, Kitty will debut, focused on one of the franchise’s most beloved characters: Kitty, the youngest Covey sibling, much to the joy of many. This concept will be the main emphasis of Kitty’s tale in the series. The trilogy’s climax centered on Lara Jean (Lana Condor) and Peter (Noah Centineo) choosing to be together despite the challenges of long-distance relationships.

XO, Kitty: What is the plot about?
If we go back to the first instalment of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, we saw Kitty develop from a 9-year-old clever matchmaker to an even wittier adolescent, and now to have a show exclusively dedicated to her and her hunt for love, it’s no wonder that it’s one of my most anticipated releases this year.
XO, Kitty takes place a few years after Always and Forever, the third volume of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series, in which we met Kitty’s uber-cute love interest Dae. Kitty asks a cute stranger to snap their family’s photo while they are on their spring break family trip to Seoul. She stumbles through the introductions because she is overwhelmed and uncomfortable while Kitty and Dae have the perfect first date. Although not much of their connection was depicted in the film, to to the dismay of many, XO, Kitty is prepared to change that.
XO, Kitty: Official Synopsis
The official logline of the series reads, “Teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey thinks she knows everything there is to know about love. But when she moves halfway across the world to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, she’ll soon realize that relationships are a lot more complicated when it’s your own heart on the line.”
XO, Kitty: Release Date
