This appears to be the case for You Hurt My Emotions, which depicts the narrative of a lady and her husband over the course of their marriage. As the couple’s tiny white lies are disclosed to each other, their seemingly idyllic lives takes a knock.

You Hurt My Feelings: What is the plot?

For all that we know, the movie broadly follows Beth who experiences low self-esteem, and a betrayal affects her marriage to failing therapist Don. Prior to this, they had a tranquil but codependent relationship, which makes their only kid uneasy. Beth’s sister helps her deal with the anguish, maybe as a result of her own difficulties with her husband Mark, a failing actor. Moreover, the official synopsis of the upcoming film reads, “From acclaimed filmmaker, Nicole Holofcener comes a sharply observed comedy about a novelist whose long-standing marriage is suddenly upended when she overhears her husband give his honest reaction to her latest book. A film about trust, lies and the things we say to the people we love most.”

You Hurt My Feelings: Release Date

During the American Film Market in 2021, A24 acquired the rights for US distribution. You Hurt My Emotions had its world premiere on January 22, 2023, at the Sundance Film Festival. The theatrical release date is set for May 26, 2023.

Furthermore, we are yet to know if the film will be available for streaming on any streaming service.
