15 Wild Elephants travelled from Southwest China all the way to Myanmar border

These elephants who started their journey from the forest reserves of Southwest China travelled through a lot of heavily populated urban and rural China and have reached the China-Myanmar border now. They have seemingly decided not to go any further or return back. This means that they have covered more than 500 km.

According to the officials, the elephants have trampled over and destroyed properties, 56 hectares of crops worth more than a million dollars. The reasons that actually drove them away from home is humans taking over their rainforests for purposes of agriculture, timber extraction and construction, there has been a significant decrease in the population of elephants in that region as well due to the same reasons.
