21 tons of pistachios went missing from a California Factory; Suspect arrested

After their routine audit this month, Touchstone Pistachio Company in San Joaquin Valley found out that they had lost tons of nuts. The investigation started right after. During the investigation detectives at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department discovered that a tractor-trailer carrying nuts had been moved from the lot of one Montemayor Trucking Company, Delano to another lot.

They later found out that the pistachios inside “were being moved from 2,000-pound sacks into smaller bags for re-sale.” After the find, Alberto Montemayor was taken in and the pistachios were returned to Touchstone. The department is further investigating the matter.
