Amazon will open its fourth gaming studio in Montreal

Amazon will open a new game studio that will create original AAA games with a focus on an online multiplayer title, the company announced on Tuesday.

Despite the struggles to make a hit game in recent years, Amazon is illustrating its commitment and going for the fourth one which will be based in Montreal.

The three other locations are based in Seattle, San Diego, and Orange County.

Amazon has struggled to make a name for itself in the game development space.

The Company pulled and then cancelled its free-to-play hero shooter Crucible last year.

In 2019, the company’s The Grand Tour gains poor reviews. Its other major original project New World is a delay to sometime later this year.

Those failures are not yet deterring incoming Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, he told employees in an email last month that he believes the game development division can thrive ‘if we hang in there.’
