Driving out the ship from Suez Canal gains little success
In an effort to oust a container ship that is stuck in Suez Canal moves slightly on Saturday but will take more days to get off, the canal authority said.
The 400-metre ship became snug diagonally the canal on Tuesday that disrupted global shipping by blocking one of the world’s busiest waterways.
About 15% of world shipping traffic transits the canal, and hundreds of vessels are waiting to pass through the waterway.
“Strong tides and winds were complicating efforts to free the ship and we expect that at any time the ship could slide and move from the spot it is in,” Suez Canal Authority Chairman Osama Rabie said.
