United States of Al: New Afghan War sitcom in Kabul is on On-Air!!

Kabul – Last week a tweet showed up in my timetable condemning the trailer of another CBS sitcom about a US Marine who carries his Afghan translator to America.

“This is a genuine TV show. All things considered made by human individuals. On Planet Earth. In 2021,” it read.

I watched the 30-second trailer and was stunned to see that the show – the principal sitcom I was aware of where a focal character is from Afghanistan – appeared to depend on tired figures of speech about a cumbersome, gallant white man acting the hero of his blundering earthy colored companion. Reza Aslan, the Iranian-American creator who serves as a chief maker on the show, asked that we give the show an opportunity.
