U.S. Rep demands resignation from Gaetz for a federal probe against him

Kinzinger, often found criticizing Former President Trump, has asked for resignation by Matt Gaetz, an ally of Trump. This comes amid a federal probe faced by Gaetz for a possible relationship with a 17-year old.

Gaetz has hired two of New York’s criminal defense lawyers, on whose behalf the statement, “Matt is going fight back against the unfounded allegation against him. His legal team, led by Mark Mukasey and Isabella Kirshner, will take the fight to those trying to smear his name with falsehoods,” was issued by Erin Elmore of the Logan Circle Group.

According to a U.S. law enforcement source, Gaetz is being investigated for possibly violating sex-trafficking law by having an alleged relation with 17-year old girl.

He has not been charged with any crimes and has denied the wrongdoing. Notably, Kinzinger is the first member of Republican to call on Gaetz, to resign.
