Apparently, Democrats are proposing to pass a bill in the legislative which Republicans believe is an assault on the judicial freedom. They also prophesying that this move will help them with their midterm elections as it will be proved to be unpopular.
Senator Ed Markey D-Mass.; House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y.; Rep. Mondaire Jones, D-N.Y.; Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga.; will announce the bill at 11:30 at the steps of the Supreme Court on Thursday at a press conference.
Legislation will expand the Supreme Court from nine seats to 13 seats.
Some Democrats had been calling for the expansion after Donald Trump, during his presidency had three nominees confirmed. Some of the justices were accused of being biased with the republicans.
Packing the court goes against everything we believe as Americans.
But make no mistake: this is about power and control. Democrats want to dismantle our institutions, including the courts, to enact their socialist agenda. pic.twitter.com/91tpZ9UZEN

“Republican packed the court when Mitch McConnell held Merrick Garland’s seat open nearly a year before an election, then confirmed Amy Coney Barrett days before the next election. Disarming the court’s radical right wing majority would correct the injustice,” as said by Jones on Thursday.
Democrats court packing proposal comes in after Justice Stephen Breyer made comments against court-packing.
“He doesn’t even mean it is a parody which is what makes it great,” responds Matt Whitlock to Jones.

His moderate Democrat colleagues facing tough races next year won't thank him for this stunt. https://t.co/TUYQI63gE3

Republicans said that they will fight hard against the Democrats’ effort. Judicial Crisis Network will be spanning an ad campaign of $1 million against the court-packing bill.
JCN president Carrie Severino tweeted, “They won’t be satisfied with a report from the commission, they want to have politicians with robes who will advance their radical agenda.”
Some Republican Senator also slide in.
Senator Mike Lee, Republican-Utah tweeted, “packing the court is the act of arrogant lawlessness.”
“it is blatant power grab by the democrats to pave way for the Left’s radical agenda. We cannot let this happen. We must protect our freedom and our future,” says Senator Steve Daine, R-Montana.
Other republicans included Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky and several Democrats have not yet commented regarding the bill.
Democrats can lose two votes in the House and still be able to pass the bill but the legislation is highly unlikely to pass.
