Former president’s suspension from both Facebook and Instagram, was announced by its founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg on January 7, following Trump’s involvement in the riots that took place at the Capitol Hill. He had instigated his followers which led them to clash with the police, resulting in several deaths.
Facebook however transferred the case over to the board for review, the move suggested that there may be some chance for the ban to reverse.
FOB after accepting the case said that they will issuing a decision in 90 days from January 21 – which would have fallen next Wednesday. But it looks like the decision will be pushed further to next month.
It is quite familiar with Facebook delaying its decisions, keeping in mind the tech giant’s crisis PR response in case of its bad publicity and scandals.
In a related FOB news, Facebook announced that user can move Oversight Board for not removing harmful content from its platform.
