Chinese rocket falling unstoppably on Earth likely to burn-up on re-entry, says China

China reassured the world on Friday that the Chinese Long March 5B rocket, that’s reportedly falling unstoppably to Earth will mostly burn up on re-entry, posing little threat to humans and property on the ground.

Foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, while speaking in Beijing stated that China was keenly following the rocket’s re-entry into the atmosphere, reported Reuters.

“The probability of this process causing harm on the ground is extremely low,” Wenbin said. Adding that, China is paying “great attention to the re-entry of the upper stage of the rocket into the atmosphere.”

The Chinese rocket was launched on April 29 from China. The rocket is expected to crash back to Earth on Saturday. Experts have warned that it is expected to land in an inhabited place.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby stated that U.S. officials are observing the rocket’s trajectory as well.
