US identifies 28 blood clotting cases after Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention claimed on Wednesday that it had recognized 28 cases of severe blood clotting out of more than 8.7 million people who had got the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine dosages, reported Reuters.

The CDC confirmed in a presentation that the highest rates of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, blood clotting together with a low platelet count – were present in women aged 30 to 49.

According to the claims, only six out of the clotting events identified were in men and three out of the 28 people have died.

Earlier, as of April 25, the CDC had claimed of 17 cases of clotting out of around 8 million people given vaccines.

It is being claimed that the events appear similar to what is being seen after administration of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Europe.
