Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian in a scuffle

The Palestinian Health Ministry stated on Friday that the Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian during a conflict in the occupied West Bank, reported Reuters.

Tensions remain intensified in the region even after a ceasefire was attained last week between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza that put a full stop to the 11 days of conflict.

Around hundred Palestinians had collected near Nablus in the northern West Bank to mark their protest against Israeli settlements.

Some people in the crowd, with mask covered faces, bombarded rocks at soldiers and burned tyres, witnesses confirmed.

The Israeli military claimed that there had been “a violent riot” at the place with Palestinians setting fires, torching tyres and throwing rocks at troops, who then “responded with riot dispersal means”.

“We are aware of reports regarding a killed Palestinian. The cause of the injury is still unknown. The incident is being examined,” a military spokeswoman stated.
