The state is well known for its multiple tourist destinations dedicated to civil rights monuments, museums,s, and historic sites. This includes the Civil Rights Institute and Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Montgomery’s Civil Rights Monument and National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and Selma’s Voting Rights Museum.

Battleship Memorial park

One of the most fascinating attractions for tourists in states Memorial Park in Mobile holds cultural and historical importance a hardscrabble  US Alabama Battleship nicknamed “the Mighty A, built on the waterfront was decommissioned after the end of WWII. Tourists can roam the whole ship from the captain’s cabin to mess hall and turrets. The park unveils various weapons and war equipment’s from WWII. The marveled charm of the park is the USS Drum, a submarine used during the Second World War, which can be toured as well.

Gulf State Park 

The paradise of Alabama which is one of a kind is popular among campers. The Gulf state park abodes more than two miles of white, sandy beaches. Civil Rights Memorial of Montgomery

The American memorial in Montgomery pays tribute to those killed during the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement. The huge black granite sculpture stands still remembering their sacrifice. The memorial stands in a square next to the Civil Rights Memorial Center, where tourists will find educational displays and exhibits, including the Wall of Tolerance.

National Memorial for Peace and Justice

An exquisite memorial is informally known as the National Lynching Memorial commemorating naïve Black Americans victims of lynching in the United States. The memorial maintains artwork, sculptures, and monuments, which honor various figures in the Civil Rights movement. It includes a field of 800 monuments representing the respective country where the lynching took place.

U.S. Space rocket center

The treat for those with a keen interest in astronomy or sci-fi fiction can dwell here for hours as the center posses world’s largest collection of space-crafts on display. Whereas, the most captivating things to do at Space center are taking turns in one of the museum’s simulators. The place is home to two stimulators one of which allows the astronaut-in-training to experience 4 Gs of force, a few seconds of weightlessness, and then a free-fall. The kids’ version of this gives young astronauts a less intense version, then “lands” on the surface of the moon.

Mobile Bay

The star attraction set along the Gulf of Mexico. Alabama’s coastline is blessed with Mobile Bay, which attracts both locals and tourists year-round. The coast has beaches and historic areas. This island consists of the historic Fort Gaines, which was established in the early 1800s and became an important outpost during the Battle of Mobile Bay.

The town of Fairhope

The town on the eastern shoreline of Mobile Bay is definitely not a miss. It is popular for fishing, and the town has many outdoor recreational activities, including golf, tennis, and bicycling. Elevated boardwalks and trails can be explored with a guide or independently.

Birmingham Museum Art

Art describes the culture and roots of the clan. BMA is rich in its collections with more than 24,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, and decorative arts representing numerous diverse cultures. It also contains changing exhibits.  Among the permanent collection are examples of ancient and international folk art and fine art, including decorative arts. An array of galleries represents Asia and Africa.

Montgomery Museum of Fine Art

The museum has a diverse art collection. The art in museums is more inclined towards American Art. Prominent American artists like John Marin and Winslow Homer are featured.  Other areas of note include the African art collection, examples of fine porcelain in the decorative arts gallery, and a display of glassworks by leaders in the craft. The museum even carries educational programs for adults as well as children.

University of Alabama

It commenced in 1827 in Tuscaloosa. In today’s date the campus is home to an art gallery; 50-acre arboretum; a pre-Civil War classroom; two museums; and the Gorgas House, which now serves as a museum.
