“Amtrak Joe” Biden to stop at Philadelphia for Amtrak’s 50th anniversary
President Biden is all set for Friday to make a stop at Philadelphia to commemorate Amtrak’s 50th anniversary while on his way to push his massive infrastructure plan.
The stop at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station is a part of “Get America Back on Track Tour”, as coined by the White House as Biden and Vice President, Kamala Harris, will be promoting their $2.3 trillion American Jobs Plan.
Biden, once a regular Amtrak rider, wrote on his official Twitter handle that Amtrak’s birthday is a “birthday I certainly wouldn’t miss.”

During his early days of political career, he has traveled on Amtrak between Washington, D.C. and his home in Delaware. He had once claimed to have made more than 8,000 trips between the two destinations.
Anyone who rode the busy Philadelphia – Washington route had not only seen Biden, but often chatted. He was known for befriending passenger and Amtrak workers alike.
His frequent travels on Amtrak earned him his nickname – Amtrak Joe.
