Boris Johnson accepts Health Secretary’s apology, considers the matter closed

Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesperson said on Friday that Health Minister Matt Hancock’s apology had been accepted. The spokesperson also added that the Prime Minister had full confidence in Matt Hancock and considered the matter now closed.

Matt Hancock found himself in an embarrassing situation earlier this week when security camera images of him kissing his aide Gina Colangelo were leaked by a whistleblower to The Sun newspaper.

Hancock, who had put his job in jeopardy by breaking an important social distancing norm, will continue as UK’s Health Secretary.
