Detroit freeway shooting kills 2 year old, leaves 9 year old fatally injured
A freeway Detroit shooting described by the officials as “horrible” and “tragic” on Interstate 75 late Thursday night killed a 2-year-old boy and fatally injured another 9-year-old boy who is in serious condition.
Detroit interim police chief James White said that the child is fighting for his life. He requested anyone with information to come forward. A late-model silver Chrysler 300 with no license plate is under suspicion as of now.
Since the incident happened on a freeway it would be under the jurisdiction of Michigan State Police with the Detroit Police Department assisting them.
Michigan State Police had posted on their official twitter handle Friday morning informing about the freeway being closed down by the troopers soon and how officials were investigating to south I-75 near McNichols for a shooting where the two children had been shot and were being taken to a hospital.

Later, it updated that the fatal shooting occurred at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle drove onto the freeway off 7 Mile Road and a “light-colored four-door” car pulled up next to it and began shooting.
At about the same time, there was another freeway shooting on Southfield Freeway, near Schoolcraft, also in Detroit.
