Discord amping up its restrictions by blocking NSFW servers on iOS

Discord is increases their restriction on adult content, with new age barriers NSFW servers and also imposing a ban on accessing those servers from iOS devices.

If once community is “organized around NFSW themes or if the majority of it content is 18+”, it will be marked as NSFW. Discord will mark servers NFSW if they fail to identify themselves.

Two function are to be performed by NSFW marker. First being that the under 18 users won’t get access to said servers. But the bigger restriction is second, which will not allow a user from iOS device to access NSFW servers. The restrictions appear to be in line with Apple’s strict rules around nudity distributed through App Store.

Several users have shown frustration by tweeting that this could make them move to Android. The art communities seem to have affected in particular as they have their sexual illustrations.
