Elise Stefanik replaces Liz Cheney as new Conference Chair
As the third-ranking leadership position was newly vacated by Rep. Cheney, Elise Stefanik, a vehement Trump champion quickly takes the place. The New York GOP representative is all set to work with Kevin McCarthy (California) and Steve Scalise (Louisiana) who serve as House Minority Leader and Minority Whip respectively.
Stefanik is very optimistic about winning the majority in the upcoming year. She calls herself a ‘proud, conservative Republican’ and claims that they “are going on offense and will win on the issues”.
She was up against Texas Rep. Chip Roy for the chair who in his memo listed all the times Stefanik voted against Trump initiated plans.
Meanwhile, Trump and Cheney engage in a very public verbal war with Trump calling her “a bitter, horrible human being” and Cheney tells him to “bring it on”.
