Elon Musk announces cancellation of Tesla’s Model S Plaid Plus

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted on Sunday that the automaker’s Model S Plaid Plus is “canceled,” as the original Plaid is “just so good.”

His tweet read, ”Plaid+ is canceled. No need, as Plaid is just so good.”

Tesla has been depicting its Model S Plaid since 2019 and it had also been facing delays.

Musk had confirmed in May that delivery for the vehicle, that will have high speeds of 200 mph and range between 390 and 412 miles would be pushed to June 10th as it requires “one more week of tweak.”

Musk had earlier tweeted on Sunday, “Model S Plaid delivery pushed to June 10. Needs one more week of tweak. This car feels like a spaceship. Words cannot describe the limbic resonance.”

The Plus model was believed to be comprised of 1,100 horsepower.

It was expected to be the world’s fastest car, with an elevated level of dynamic performance with its triple motor setup. Tesla earlier claimed that the 2021 Model S will come with the most comprehensive set of changes in nearly a decade.

Experts believe that the automobile’s huge unrealistic expectations led to its cancelation.
