Federal Judge orders review of evidence from Giulani’s home and office raids

U.S. District Judge Paul Oetken ordered an independent review of evidence recovered from electronic devices seized in recent raids conducted on Rudy Giuliani’s home and office, declining Giuliani’s effort to stop the review on Friday, reported Reuters.

Judge Paul Oetken in Manhattan stated that designating a special master would “ensure the perception of fairness” in reviewing the 18 devices, also the cellphones and computers, captured during the April 28 raids.

For a long time, Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have been investigating Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine. Also, if he violated lobbying laws by playing a role as an unregistered foreign agent by working as a lawyer for former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Robert Costello, Giuliani’s lawyer, claimed that he considered it “inevitable” a special master would be appointed, “so this ruling comes as no surprise to us.”

Giuliani has not been indicted and it is said that after the raids his behaviour had been “absolutely legal and ethical.”
