Fox Valley Organizations launch family friendly vaccine clinic in Wisconsin

Fox Valley Organisations in Wisconsin organized a family-friendly vaccine clinic at  Wilson Middle School on July 12. The clinic was particularly aimed at vaccinating students before schools begin.

According to Wisconsin Department of Health Services data, 28% of children between the age of 12 and 15 and 37% of kids between the age of 16 and 17 have received at least the first dose.

Wilson Middle School was chosen for the vaccine clinic as it is one of the most diverse schools in the Appleton Area School District.

“It’s not something we are saying they have to do, we just want to take down any barriers that anybody that wants to get vaccinated can get it,” told Deb Moreland, Associate principal of Wilson Middle School, to Fox11 News.

“The more we can get vaccinated the better, but it is definitely their choice,” Moreland further added.

Appleton Area School District and its community partners’ main objective is to break the barrier of getting vaccines for those who want it. People who were vaccinated on Monday will return on August 1 for their second vaccine dose.
