Germany to purchase five Boeing P-8A maritime patrol aircrafts for about $1.31 billion
Germany’s Defence Ministry said on Wednesday that it will purchase five Boeing P-8A maritime patrol aircraft for about 1.1 billion euros ($1.31 billion).
The contract will be signed with Boeing following the approval of the parliamentary budget committee.
The Ministry stated that “This procurement, with a volume of around 1.1 billion euros, serves the urgent need to maintain a capability for long-range maritime reconnaissance and airborne submarine hunting.”
This comes as a confirmation of a Reuters report this month that said that the parliamentary budget committee had approved the purchase.
