Here’s everything you need to know about “Bandcamp” and it’s initiative
To cultivate music, culture to thrive and be compensated fairly and transparently for work is our primary motive. Bandcamp helps musicians all around the world to create the best possible service for artists and labels to share and earn money from their music, and for people who enjoy their pure artwork.
It is a leading platform which encourages art and helps budding artists to grow and earn a living.
We believe that music is an indispensable part of culture, and for that culture to thrive, artists—no matter the size of their audience—must be compensated fairly and transparently for their work. Without this belief, our mission would be meaningless, and it’s why we’ve built our business around a model that puts the artist first.
On the first Friday of every month since March of 2020, Bandcamp shares revenue to help support the many artists who have seen their livelihoods disrupted by the pandemic. Over the course of these eleven days, fans paid artists and labels $48 million dollars, helping cover rents, mortgages, groceries, and medications.
When you make a purchase on any other day of the month an average of 82% reaches the artist. Every day is a good day to directly support artists on Bandcamp!
