Israel continues to strike Gaza Strip as Netanyahu vows to ‘levy a heavy price’
Israeli rockets continued to assault into the Gaza Strip even on Monday after the deadliest day till now in the ongoing fight between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, reported CBS News.
Almost 42 people died in Gaza on Sunday, including children, and some large buildings were demolished.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he wanted to “levy a heavy price” from Hamas for shooting thousands of rockets towards Israel, a bombardment that also went on till Monday, reported CBS News.
As the crisis stepped into its second week, the Israeli shots in Gaza were responsible for at least 200 Palestinian murders as of Monday, involving 55 children and 33 women.
More than 1,200 have been wounded in the attack. The rockets fired from the Gaza Strip by Hamas militants have killed around eight people in Israel, involving a young boy and a soldier.
CBS News’ Imtiaz Tyab reported from disputed East Jerusalem on Monday. East Jerusalem saw rising violent protests over the weekend in the surrounding areas where tensions have been bubbling for months between Jews and Muslims and finally reached a head point just over a week ago.
