Joe Biden off to Cleveland to promote infrastructure and economy plans
US President Joe Biden will be leaving to Cleveland on Thursday. His trip comes in a bid to bolster Americans as the economy is bouncing back and to sell his infrastructure proposal as the White House stays in a position of impasse with Senate Republicans over negotiations for a bipartisan deal.
In a speech that will be economic-themed, Biden will be countering a narrative presented by Republicans, who have directed towards the increasing inflation as a sign he is spearheading the economy in the wrong direction with his huge-spending plans.
White House principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Wednesday that Biden will use the speech to “make a clear case that his economic plan is working.”
She added that Biden is going to talk about “how far we have come as a country” because of his steps and how the U.S. is “turning the tide on the pandemic.”
Biden is going to speak at Cuyahoga Community College, the site that was planned for his concluding campaign rally he was going to make as a presidential candidate in March 2020 before the pandemic forced a lockdown in the country.
