LA Police bomb disposal truck explodes, 17 reported dead

17 people were injured when a Los Angeles Police Department bomb disposal truck exploded in the middle of a densely populated neighborhood when police officers detonated a large load of improvised explosives inside the truck.

A shocked Michel Moore, Chief of Police Department said, “This vessel should have been able to dispose of this material. Something happened in that containment vehicle that should not have happened and we do not know why.”

When the explosion happened, windows of surrounding homes and one laundromat were blown out. It also completely destroyed a car parked nearby.

The explosion is said to be the result of a total catastrophe despite protocols being followed.
