Meghan Markle sends a handwritten note with a wreath of flowers to be laid at Prince Philip’s funeral
Meghan Markle couldn’t attend Prince Philip’s funeral due to her pregnancy as her doctor did not give her the consent to travel across. Although she couldn’t physically be present at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral, she sent her love and presence in the form of a handwritten note alongside a wreath of flowers to be laid at his funeral.
Meghan had the wreath customized by Willow Crossley, who had also designed flowers for Meghan and Harry’s wedding reception at the Windsor Home Park in 2018. Willow had also arranged for the flowers at their son Archie’s Christening ceremony when he was 23 months old.

Meghan’s wreath included flowers that were handpicked from Willow’s personal flower garden. The flowers included Eryngium, the National flower of Greece, the birthplace of late Prince Philip. They represent the ‘Royal Marines’ and ‘Acanthus mollis’.
It also had Campanula, standing for everlasting love and gratitude, Rosemary that shows remembrance as well as Lavender that stands signifies devotion.
Besides these, the wreath including roses, to honour the month of June, Prince Philip’s birth month.
The Duke of Edinburgh passed away peacefully on April 9, aged 99 at the Windsor Castle. While Meghan stayed back, Prince Harry flew to England to attend his beloved grandfather’s funeral along with the rest of the Royal Family members.
