Myanmar protesters confronted the military coup in huge number

Myanmar is witnessing civil disobedience and protest for ousted civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi to let him release from detention. The protest is for civilian rights opposing the military coup.

As anti-coup protesters urge supporters to take to the streets masse,  potential concerns are growing for violence in the country. The number of protesters who marched in the streets on Wednesday was the largest seen in Yangon since the military coup over two weeks ago.

The lawsuit filed against Suu Kyi Tuesday urged thousands more to marched in downtown Yangon to Sule Pagoda on Wednesday. Her lawyer Khin Maung Zaw said that she had been charged about a national disaster law, in addition to an earlier count under the country’s import and export act.

Reuters reported stated “Let’s gather in millions to take down the dictators, “activist Khin Sandar wrote on Facebook.

The city images showed peaceful protesters marching and carrying banners reading “Release our leader” and “Join CDM” the civil disobedience movement. Others blocked roads and bridges with cars, leaving their engine hoods up as if they had broken down.

Kyi Toe, a senior member of Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy said: “Let’s march en masse. Let’s show our force against the coup government that has destroyed the future of youth, the future of our country.”
